Infant Caregivers
ABC’s Infant Program has one classroom that allows for a maximum of 12 infants to be cared for at any given time. A 3:1 (infant:adult) ratio is maintained at all times, which exceeds the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene regulations (requiring a 4:1 ratio).
The infant program is run by two Head Teachers and two Teacher’s Assistants each of whom has extensive experience and a passion for working with young children. Each head teacher has a minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, or is in the process of obtaining this type of degree. All ABC employees have met strict standards prior to hire, including a thorough background check with the State Central Register Database, a criminal history review and fingerprinting by the Department of Investigation. Also, every full-time employee of ABC is certified in Infant/Child First-Aid and CPR.
Licensing
ABC Infant & Toddler Center is fully licensed and approved by the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene Bureau of Child Care for 41 children between the ages of 0 to 24 months.
